Anyone currently registered as a Berenson Library reader may consult materials from the library’s special collections (see admittance policy). Special Collections include rare books, photographs and photo albums, archival collections, early auction catalogs, microforms, maps, CD-ROMS, and DVDs. These items may be consulted only in the Ahmanson Reading Room for Special Collections and during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.).... Current I Tatti appointees and other Harvard faculty, students and staff with an active Harvard University ID (HUID) may request materials that are not owned by the Berenson Library either through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) or the Scan & Deliver service. Procedures for each differ.

Library materials of all kinds must be consulted only onsite and are never to be removed from the main complex of the Library, studies or reading areas, and Villa. The library administration will make no exceptions to this rule and patrons found to have violated it may have their privileges suspended.
