Biography

Elizabeth S. Lagresa-González is a doctoral candidate in Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University. She received her M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara focusing on Spanish, English and Italian early modern literature and culture. She hopes to investigate cross-disciplinary constructions of the topos of arms and letters within the context of the Mediterranean, as a site of contact and circulation, as well as conflict and convergence. More generally, her research explores the interactions between early modern literature and gender studies, translation theories, visual studies, digital humanities and Mediterranean studies. Elizabeth has published articles on masculine women in the Spanish theater, the Spanish black legend, as well as a book chapter on collaborative approaches to the Digital Humanities, and a forthcoming translation of Bernat Metge’s Lo Somni.
