Biography

Christopher Brown is a doctoral candidate in Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University. Having received his B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross in Italian Studies, Chris worked as a sportswriter before then pursuing graduate school. Though his intellectual curiosity tends to be expansive, his primary research interests currently include Renaissance constructions of temporality – in particular, the development of abstract, autonomous time consciousness, and its poetic imaginings. He is immensely excited about a graduate fellowship as an opportunity to not only expand his knowledge on the art and literature of the period, but also to join in the I Tatti community. When not researching or teaching, Chris can likely be found engaging in sports debates or participating in various athletic endeavors.
