Spring Concert in Honor of Walter Kaiser

A Spring Concert of Renaissance Music and Poetry in Honor of Walter Kaiser (1931-2016), Director of I Tatti from 1988 - 2002, was held in the Myron and Sheila Gilmore Limonaia of Villa I Tatti on Thursday, April 21 2016. The concert featured madrigals set on poetry by Petrarch, Laura Battiferri, Michelangelo il Giovane and others by composer Gavin Bryars, and was performed by the ensemble Singer Pur, with mezzo soprano Elena Bassi, contralto Alessandra Fiori, and Antonio Fazzini as the voce recitante. 

Introductions were provided by Diletta Gamberini, Melville J. Kahn Fellow at Villa I Tatti.
