This was a joint year-long fellowship offered by I Tatti and the German Historical Insitute in Rome (DHI Rome) for scholars working on cultural exchange with and within the African content during the period c. 1250-1750. I Tatti now offers the six-month Marlène and Paolo Fresco Fellowship in African Studies in the spring term. This fellowship is designed for post-doctoral scholars in fields related to the study of African history, including art history, archeology, the history of expressive cultures, musicology, economic history, intellectual, political, and religious history, as well as literature and languages.
