This presentation focuses on Galeazzo Alessi’s S. Maria Assunta di Carignano after the completion of the basilica in 1606, and thus on the history of its sculptural decoration until 1724, and on the new role of the façade. A new hypothesis addresses the construction of the Ponte di Carignano, connecting this project with urban planning in Genoa.
