On Monday, June 4, music historian and I Tatti Fellow Cecilia Nocilli organized a workshop to explain the artistic nuances of the 14th century to the I Tatti community both verbally and through movement. Interesting examples of variations in the Renaissance style, as compared to other genres of dance, were articulated through her interactive lesson and lecture. Cecilia Nocilli transmitted an important message that transcends time: dance allows humans to connect with each other and externalize their soul.
The aperitivo following the dance class and lecture inspired interesting dialogue on the variety of human expression during the Renaissance, from fashion to art.
