Biography
Blanca González Talavera obtained her PhD in Art History in 2011 from the Università degli Studi di Firenze and the Universidad de Granada for her co-supervised thesis: "Presence and Spanish patronage in Medici Florence: from Cosimo I to Fernando I". She has received several fellowships and contracts that have allowed her to continue in her main research interest: the Spanish Renaissance and its Italian connections and, specifically, the Spanish presence in Florence in the sixteenth century. She has taught in the Universities of Granada, Florence, and Almería, where she has taught Art History and Didactics of Social Sciences.
Project Summary
This project focuses on the journey of Prince Francesco I de 'Medici with the intent to obtain an overview as faithful as possible of his time in Spain. It considers personal and political matters in addition to cultural, social and religious aspects.
