Biography
Audrey M. Wozniak is an ethnomusicologist and violinist who writes about discursive and material constructions of kinship, cultural heritage, and the state, particularly in the urban diasporic contexts of Turkey and China. She is a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard University and has conducted ethnographic and archival fieldwork on koro (collective singing ensembles) in Istanbul and Turkish diasporic communities since 2015. An accomplished performer of Western and Turkish classical music, she has been a featured guest on Turkish National Radio broadcasts, performed and recorded with the Grammy Award-winning Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and premiered works at London’s National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts, and the Sagrada Família.
