Biography

Bing Huang is a PhD student in History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University. Before commencing at Harvard, she completed her MPhil at the University of Cambridge. Her primary research interest lies in the culture and artistic exchange between China and Europe. Her dissertation seeks to develop a discourse on Italian design in China during the Ming and Qing periods. She would like to use this opportunity at I Tatti to develop two cornerstones of her dissertation: one chapter concerning drama and gardening, and another on clocks. She looks forward to uncovering many unexpected findings through in-depth reading, site visits, archival research and exchange with other fellows while at I Tatti.
