Biography

Yaochun, Liu is a Professor in the World History Department of School of History and Culture in Sichuan University. He received his doctorate at Sichuan University in 2007, and spent one year at Università degli Studi di Firenze between October 2008 and October 2009. His research fields focus on urban history and the social-cultural history of Renaissance and Baroque Italy. He has translated several Renaissance books into Chinese and published two books and many articles on Renaissance Italy. 

Project Summary 

This project will investigate the formation of the urban elites from the era of commune to the end of Cinquecento, and it try to find out how the collective identities of urban elites were molded by family and kinship relations.
